The Texas Catholic Marriage Project is a Catholic lay apostolate dedicated to strengthening marriage as a lifelong covenant between husband and wife and preserving the family as the first and most enduring community in a child’s life. Guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church and a child centered understanding of justice, TCMP seeks to help spouses remain faithful to their vows, encourage fathers and mothers in their God-given responsibilities, and protect the security, dignity, and well-being of children.
Through serious scholarship, faithful education, practical support, and responsible public engagement, TCMP equips families to understand the civil and ecclesiastical dimensions of marriage. It promotes careful research, professional collaboration, public education, and principled legal and legislative reform directed toward marital permanence, parental rights and responsibilities, religious liberty, and the protection of children during family conflict.
TCMP undertakes this work with clarity of mind, purity of heart, and calmness of spirit. It seeks neither conflict for its own sake nor victory without charity, but truth joined with
mercy, courage governed by prudence, and justice ordered toward reconciliation and peace.
Its purpose is to help create the conditions in which marriages may endure, parents may fulfill their duties faithfully, children may grow into healthy and well-grounded adults, and
families may remain faithful and flourish amid a culture increasingly shaped by separation and divorce.
