Three Pillars

What we offer

The Three Pillars of the Texas Catholic Marriage Project

TCMP organizes its work around three interconnected areas of study.

None can be understood properly in isolation.

A family-law decision may simultaneously affect constitutional rights, religious obligations, parent-child relationships, psychological development, economic security, education, residence, and the continuity of family life.

The Three Pillars provide the framework through which TCMP examines those consequences.

Marriage, Law &Parental Rights
The constitutional, statutory, and procedural dimensions of marriage, divorce, parenthood, and family integrity.
Catholic Marriage & Religious Obligation
The nature of sacramental marriage, the duties assumed by Catholic spouses, religious liberty, and the relationship between civil and ecclesiastical understandings of marriage.
Children's Well-Being & Family Security

The developmental, psychological, relational, and social importance of stable family relationships
and meaningful bonds with both parents.

At the center of this work is the development of a child-centered jurisprudence—an approach to family law that recognizes children not merely as subjects of adult litigation, but as persons whose dignity, relationships, interests, and constitutional protections deserve serious consideration.
